On Tuesday evening, an explosion occurred outside the BSF Headquarters, reporting no casualties. Probe underway to understand the cause of blast, considering possibilities of deliberate tampering or a mechanical fault.
A high-impact explosion occurred in a two-wheeler outside Punjab Frontier headquarters of Border Security Force (BSF) in Jalandhar on Tuesday evening.
The blast happened on the busiest road near BSF headquarters in Punjab at 8 pm. The road connecting the main city with Amritsar – New Delhi National Highway.
The cause and intention of the blast are still unknown.
The effects of the blast can be judged by the fact that the broken pieces of the Honda Activa were thrown a few meters away from the crime spot, along with the destruction of the traffic signal post.
The police department of Jalandhar has sealed off the entire area as senior police officers joined hands with forensic experts, dog squads, and bomb squads to conduct a thorough investigation.
The residents informed the police that there was an audible sound produced by the explosion that originated from the two-wheelers, which caught fire instantly.

Blast Timeline Outside BSF Gate
As per the initial reporting, the incident happened at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, close to the BSF Frontier Headquarters office located in Jalandhar. It is said that a parked scooter spontaneously blew up into flames.
The eyewitnesses reported the incident, stating that the effect of the blast can be estimated in terms of the wreckage of the Honda Activa spreading a few meters from the scene of the crime, apart from damaging the traffic light pole.

The effect of the blast can be estimated in terms of the wreckage of the Honda Activa spreading a few meters from the scene of crime, apart from damaging the traffic light pole.
The area has been completely sealed by Jalandhar commissionerate police as the top cops, along with the dog squad and forensics experts arrived at the scene for investigations.
The residents informed the police force that they had heard a loud noise caused by the explosion of a two-wheeler, which caught fire instantly.
Speaking on the incident, Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur Randhawa informed that the investigation into the matter has started on a prima facie basis, and as of now, nothing untoward or any use of explosives has been found.

The explosion at the office of BSF set off an alert, leading to the sealing off of the locality and subsequent investigation of the fire in the scooter.
The investigation is looking into several factors that may have led to such an incident, whether it was caused by accidental setting off, mechanical defect, or outside intervention.
The police department is gathering video evidence as well as eyewitness testimony, while a forensic team will examine the debris for explosives.
