Rahul Meena, a 19-year-old former domestic worker, raped and murdered a 22-year-old IIT graduate and the daughter of an IRS officer in Delhi’s Kailash Hills hours after sexually assaulting a woman in Rajasthan’s Alwar.
Ex- Househelp Held in Kailash Hills Killing in Delhi
The accused Rahul Meena, alleged of rape-murder in Delhi’s Kailash Hills, had been apprehended by police from a hotel in Dwarka. A 19-year old, former domestic helper alleged of the rape-murder of an IRS officer’s 22-year old daughter shooked Delhi once again. The victim studied at IIT Delhi and was preparing for her civil service examination.
According to police officials, the culprit was working as a domestic helper at the house for nearly eight months and was fired a few weeks ago owing to some financial discrepancies. It is believed that he possessed adequate knowledge about the layout and timings of the domestic activities that occurred in the house. This helped him get into the house in the morning when only the victim was present.
CCTV showed the accused entering the property after 6:20 AM and leaving an hour later when parents found their daughter in a gruesome condition.
Victim Assaulted, Strangled to death inside her Home
According to the police’s preliminary investigation, the victim had been sexually assaulted before being strangled to death with the mobile charger cord. It also finds severe marks of force and injuries on victims face and head, indicating violent physical struggle. Postmortem examination outcomes are awaited for formal medical confirmation of the assault.
The forensics team retrieved evidence from the crime scene, and it was mentioned by authorities that all possible investigation approaches are currently being considered. This matter has heightened concerns regarding the security of homes in urban areas.
Alwar Rape Link Deepens Case Gravity
It was found that Meena was also accused of sexual violence in the city of Alwar, a few hours before his criminal act in the nation’s capital. As per police reports, Meena raped an acquaintance’s wife in his village and then escaped to Delhi to commit the other crime in the capital
It is believed that the accused went to Delhi soon after committing the first crime, which means that the crimes committed by him were part of a pre-planned sequence. The familiarity with the Kailash Hills home and perhaps resentment after being fired are being investigated as major motivations.
