India Ready for Long War Against Pakistan During Operation Sindoor, Says Rajnath Singh

Defence Ministers dismisses Pakistan’s “nuclear bluff” and reiterates strong counter terror stance by station, “India halted Operation Sindoor on its own terms”.

India seemed fully prepared for a long-term war with Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, Defence Minister said, emphasising that the military aggression was purely halted voluntarily and not due to any external global pressure. His statements underline India’s strategic preparedness and strong approach towards cross-border threats between regional tensions.

India Was Prepared for a Prolonged War

India had made all necessary preparations for long term conflict during Operation Sindoor on Pakistan – Rajnath Singh. He also emphasised that the country’s armed forces were fully ready with high end equipment and can continue the operation as long as it requires.

As per the Defence Minister, the decision to end the operation was independent, saying that India halted it “voluntarily” and on “its own term”. His assertion clearly states his stance on the operation which was not influenced by anybody and the decision was purely based on strategic considerations.

He also reiterated that India’s military preparedness ensured that it was capable of bearing an extended engagement if the situation demanded it.

Strong Message to Pakistan and Nuclear Bluff Remark

In his remarks, the defence minister also took aim at Pakistan, rejecting what he described as attempts at nuclear intimidation.

India never succumbed to what he remarked “nuclear bluff”, making its assertion clear that such threats would not deter the country’s actions. Such an assertion clearly highlights the firmness of India’s stand against any form of coercion on issues related to national security.

Rajnath Singh reiterated India’s position on terrorism, remarking Pakistan as the “epicentre of international terrorism”. This reflects the government’s consistent view that cross-border terror networks continue to operate from Pakistani soil.

Context of Operation Sindoor and Strategic Significance

A terror attack at Pahlagam by Pakistani troops targeting innocent Indian civilians, killing 26, Operation Sindoor was a retaliation staying on grounds of zero-tolerance for terror. It targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan, an effort to counter cross-border terrorism and send a strong message of India’s zero-tolerance towards terrorism.

The statements made by the defense minister emphasize how this operation was deliberate and resolute. India not only showed its determination to be strong and decisive but also showed its ability to hold back, deciding when to stop the operation.

From his statements, we can deduce that stopping the operation based on India’s own terms means India was in a stronger position.
