Jaipur Faces Horror Again As Drunk Woman’s Car Kills 14-Year-Old Girl, Injures Father and Sister

In a shocking incident that’s left Jaipur residents demanding justice, a 14-year-old girl lost her life while her father and younger sister were left seriously injured when a drunk woman crashed her car into their motorcycle. The accident, which happened late Monday night near Amrapali Circle, has sparked outrage across the city and on social media platforms.

Car Smashes into Family Bike Past Midnight

It was just after midnight when the unthinkable happened. A father and his two daughters—14 and 12 years old—were headed home on their motorcycle after attending a family gathering. They were nearly home, cruising through Vaishali Nagar, when disaster struck without warning.

A white hatchback, moving at high speed, rammed into them from behind. CCTV footage shows the car didn’t even slow down before impact, hitting the bike with such force that all three family members were flung several feet across the road. Their motorcycle was dragged almost 50 meters before the car finally stopped.

Eyewitnesses rushed to help. One man, who runs a tea stall nearby, said, “I heard a loud crash and people screaming. When I ran out, I saw them lying on the road. The young girl wasn’t moving.”

Teen Dies on Scene, Two Fight for Recovery

The 14-year-old girl, later identified as Chhavi, suffered fatal head injuries and was pronounced dead before she could reach the hospital. Her father, Mohan Lal (43), suffered multiple fractures to his legs and ribs, while her 12-year-old sister Khushi sustained head injuries and a broken arm.

Both survivors were rushed to Sawai Man Singh Hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery on the younger girl. Hospital staff reported that the father regained consciousness Tuesday morning but hasn’t yet been told about his older daughter’s death.

“The younger girl’s condition has stabilized after surgery, but we’re keeping her under observation for the next 72 hours,” said Dr. Raman Sharma at SMS Hospital. “The father’s injuries, while serious, aren’t life-threatening.”

Woman Driver Couldn’t Even Stand Straight

When police arrived at the scene, they found the driver, 23-year-old Shikha Sharma, still behind the wheel, barely able to form coherent sentences. She reportedly failed the field sobriety test, unable to walk in a straight line or even stand without support.

“She was so drunk she couldn’t even tell us her name properly,” said Head Constable Vikram Singh, who was first to reach the spot. “We had to help her out of the car as she kept falling over.”

Police records show her blood alcohol content was three times above the legal limit. When questioned, she admitted to having “a few drinks” at a local pub with friends before deciding to drive home alone despite their objections.

“This wasn’t just bad judgment—it was criminal negligence,” said Vaishali Nagar police station in-charge Ravindra Singh. Sharma has been booked under sections 304 and 279 of the IPC and was denied bail in her first court appearance Tuesday afternoon.

Local Protests Erupt, Celebs Demand Action

By Tuesday morning, over 200 residents had gathered at the accident site, blocking traffic and demanding justice. Some held up hastily-made cardboard signs – one guy had scribbled “Justice for Chhavi” in red marker, another lady’s poster said “DUI = MURDER” with tears in her eyes.

The story blew up online too. Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor got wind of it and posted about it on her Insta. She didn’t mince words either: “Seriously??? Another kid gone bc someone couldn’t call a cab?? When are we gonna wake up about this drunk driving mess??”

Community leader Prakash Joshi, who organized the protest, said, “This isn’t the first such incident in our area. Last year, there were three drunk driving accidents just on this stretch. This stretch gets dangerous after dark. We’ve been asking for cops here since forever.”

Booze + Cars = Big Trouble in Pink City

Look, the numbers don’t lie. Cops nabbed WAY more drunk drivers last year – up 15% from before. A traffic officer (who didn’t want his name in print) told me weekend DUI arrests have basically doubled since 2023. “It’s mostly young people,” he said, shaking his head. “Kids with money but no sense, thinking they’re invincible.”

“We’re increasing night patrols immediately,” announced DCP Traffic Narendra Kumar at a press conference Tuesday. “Starting this weekend, we’ll have checkpoints at 12 major intersections from 9 PM until 3 AM.”

The victim’s school, Kendriya Vidyalaya, canceled classes on Tuesday as students and teachers held a memorial service. I talked to a couple of Chhavi’s school friends who showed up at the memorial. Tears streaming, one girl told me, “She was crazy about cricket, ya know? Better than most boys.” Another kid mentioned she’d just won some science thing at state level back in March. “Super smart, always helping others with math homework.”

Her dad and little sis are still in hospital beds while relatives handle funeral arrangements. Nobody says it out loud, but you can see it on every face around here – pure anger that some party girl who couldn’t be bothered to call a cab destroyed a family in seconds. Honestly makes my blood boil.
