JD Vance’s son is fascinated by India after dinner with PM Modi: ‘Dad, I think I can live in India.’

In a captivating and heartwarming slice of the India-US relationship, which goes beyond heavy diplomacy, US Vice President JD Vance said he came across an interesting story from his family’s trip to India and recalled how his seven-year-old son, Ewan, after dinner with Modi, said, “Abbu, I want to live in India.”

A Mesmerizing Evening at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg

The whole vibrant and diverse family, including Vance’s wife, Usha, and three children, Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel, came along with him to enjoy the mesmerizing four-day tour of India, which was beautifully culminated with an inspiring dinner with Prime Minister Modi in New Delhi at his official residence. That dinner was so much more than just a dinner and resonated on so many levels with the Vances. “After our wonderful visit to the Prime Minister’s residence, my 7-year-old said, “You know, I could live here in India,” Vance related at an event in Jaipur.

That was not the only vivid cinematic view he painted of India.

The Charm of Indian Culture and Hospitality

If anything, this paints a more profound picture of how deep Indian hospitality runs.

Everything from the delightful food to the heartfelt hospitality of Prime Minister Modi was aimed at making the guests feel at home. Modi gifting peacock feathers to the children emphasizes even further the culture and kindness India is famous for.

Cultural Interaction Outside Diplomacy

The families took part in India’s vibrant culture beyond Vance’s official meetings. The heads of the family went to the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple, attired in traditional Indian clothes, which showed their respect for the culture. These types of events help to not only deepen the relations of two countries but also strengthen the courtesy and understanding of each other.

Talks on Trade and Strategic Alliances

The public was fascinated by personal stories of the trip, but the main focus of Vance’s visit was the relationship between India and the U.S. Conversations with PM Modi were around the development of trade relations, especially concerning defense and energy. They accepted profoundly the necessity of establishing powerful partnerships for global issues and sustained economic development.

The Human Side of Diplomacy

Ewan’s frank observation is an example of the human side of international relations. Such moments of warmth can build trust and goodwill that enable greater partnerships. As Vice President Vance put it very well, the bond his children had with Prime Minister Modi encapsulates the scope of a stronger U.S.-India alliance.

Looking Ahead: A Strengthened Alliance

The Vance family’s visit, combining diplomacy with personal engagements, has become a symbol of reinvigorated resolve to strengthen U.S.-India relations. While both countries face challenges in global geopolitics, the enduring mutual respect and common values will help sculpt the collaborative vision of the future.

Conclusion

It is usually the anecdotes at the heart of international diplomacy that carry the most weight. Ewan Vance’s comment reminds us of the grace and hospitality that India offers to every dignitary visiting the country. Such touching moments highlight the bond of humanity countries share amidst the strategic partnership growing between India and the United States.
